Task: Play Wordle!
Needed: Wordle ATR or BASIC file, Atari 8-bit Computer or Emulator
Time: 10-15 minutes
Introduction
I still play Wordle every day and love the game for a quick distraction. I was pleased to run across the Atari BASIC program for Wordle by D. Scott Williamson. This program was an entry for the PUR-80 category of the 2025 BASIC 10 Liner contest where it won second place.
Instructions
Navigate to the Atari Wordle website and download the Wordle.ATR file at the end of the page. You boot this with Altirra or place it on an SD card for FujiNet to play on original hardware. You can also write the file to a floppy disk for an original experience.
To play simply start typing letter. Green means a letter is in the right place and yellow means it is in the wrong place. Keep trying until you guess the word.
