Task: Purchase a New Dust Cover for Your Atari 8-Bit Computer or Video Game Console
Needed: Web Browser
Time: 10-15 mins
Introduction
I still have my original faux leather dust cover for my Atari 800. These are nice because they keep dust and debris out, but also help prevent yellowing. Unfortunately, dust covers from back in the day are almost impossible to find these days and some might harbor mold or unpleasant smells after so many years. The good news is there are kind souls making brand new dust covers and selling them online.
I have listed a few sources below.

Instructions
I purchased my 800XL dust cover on eBay for $25.
This seller has dust covers for other Atari items including the 800, 1050, 130XE, 2600, 5200, and 7800.
There is a seller on Etsy with a different style dust cover.
Here is another seller on eBay also with a different style.
There are a few others you can find on Google if you don’t like any of these.
Comments
The cover I received is nicely made and good quality. I like the embroidered Atari logo and name. Very attractive.
It fits very snuggly, but the seller said they make them like that because they stretch out with wear. This has been true and is not a problem.
Note that there are not notches in the back of the cover to make room for the cables. The seller explained that they don’t include these because everyone has a different configuration. I don’t see this as a big problem. The back of the cover can ride up somewhat if you have stuff plugged in or you can unplug the cables before putting it on.
My only complaint about the item I received is that it had some sort of fragrance on it which I did not like. It seams to be wearing off which is good.
