Task: Play MP3 and WAV Files on Your Atari 8-Bit Computer Using FujiConvert
Needed: Web Browser
Time: 10-15 mins
Introduction
I recently ran across the FujiConvert web tool that converts modern sound files (e.g. MP3 and WAV) to executables which can be booted on an Atari 8-bit computer or emulator. I am not sure how useful this is, but it is fun to download an MP3 of your favorite song and listen to in on your Atari!
Instructions
Navigate to the FujiConvert website, select your sound file, and download the zip file with the executable.
There are a number of options for executables compatible with various flash devices (e.g. Atarimax, IDE) which can be selected. This is useful for running on original hardware.
Comments
The javascript code for the site is available on Github.
Here is the Atari Age thread for discussion about the software.
I didn’t see a way to download the source code for the Atari executable. This would be a nice feature to add.
