Task: Read the Book “Unofficial Atari: A Visual History”
Needed: The book
Time: 15-30 minutes
Introduction
“Unofficial Atari: A Visual History” is ~400-page book written by Darren Doyle and published by Greyfox Books. Much of the book consists of two-page visual layouts of 162 third-party Atari 8-bit computer games such as M.U.L.E. and Lode Runner. These are intermixed with game developer interviews, software publisher information, and nice overviews of 8-bit computer hardware. This is a beautiful book that was funded through a Kickstarter project. Backing this project is how I got a copy.
Instructions
You can purchase the book from the Greyfox Books website. It currently costs about $30 to $35 depending on the conversion from the list price of 30 Euros.
Comments
I was amazed at how heavy this book is. It is published on high-quality glossy paper and is a pleasure to look at and read. My only criticism is that it didn’t include my favorite game Sea Dragon!
