Task: Read the Book ‘Terrible Nerd’ by Kevin Savetz
Needed: The book
Time: 3-6 hours
Introduction
Many of us grew up with Atari home computers in the 1980s. I certainly did with my Atari 400 and then 800. Those were great times and many of us were inspired in our careers by our experience growing up at a time when home computing was new and unfolding before our eyes. I am sure many of us could write interesting books about that time and how it impacted our current selves. As such, I was very excited to purchase and read Kevin Savetz’s book about his experience growing up with Atari and Apple computers. He talks about playing video games, learning to code, and the craft of pirating software that was quite common back in those days. This book was so much fun to read and parts paralleled by own life. I highly recommend this book. It is an easy and fun read and will stimulate many of your own memories with vintage computers.
